Can you help bring joy and make spirits bright for family’s this holiday season?

Every year, our community shows up in a big way to help the kids and parents at Mary's Place celebrate the holidays together – and we are so grateful!!

And each year, we listen to the families we serve and adapt our program to better meet their needs and preferences. This season, there are a few ways to support families, detailed below; the most helpful is purchasing gift cards.

GIFT CARDS: OUR GREATEST NEED THIS YEAR!

The holidays look different for every family, and gift cards let each family celebrate in the way that feels right to them. In a time when so much is uncertain, choosing gifts for their own children can be deeply meaningful for parents. A gift card might mean:

  • A parent picks out the special toy their child has been hoping for

  • A family buys the food they love to share a holiday meal

  • Families choose matching outfits for a holiday photo

Gift cards also help meet needs that are hard to predict, like the right size or style for each child – especially for teens.

HOW TO GIVE GIFT CARDS

Major retail and grocery stores, and general Visa gift cards are wonderful options. Suggestions include Visa, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Albertsons/Safeway, Fred Meyer/QFC, and T.J. Maxx/Marshalls.

Please purchase cards in $25 and $50 denominations and write the value on each. Cards can be mailed to Mary's Place, PO Box 1711, Seattle, WA 98111, or dropped off at our Warehouse (details below).

HIGH-NEED SEASONAL ITEMS

We have a variety of needs across our programs this winter that you can help support! Whether it’s collecting warm winter gear, assembling kits, or helping to furnish a family’s new apartment – there are many ways to support our families this holiday season. Email holiday@marysplaceseattle.org to see how we can partner to bring resources to families this winter!

TOYS

We know how much joy it brings to shop for a child, and we are so grateful for the love our community shows our kids every season! Like last year, toys will be gifted to children staying in shelter ages 0-12.

Your generosity is so great that in past years we've received more toys than we’ve had the capacity to store and share. Our greatest hope is that every gift finds its way into a child's hands, so this year we are coordinating toy donations a little more closely.

If your workplace, group, or family would like to shop for toys, including hosting a Giving Tree, please email holiday@marysplaceseattle.org. We'll see what fits best for you and, where applicable, share a list of the most-wanted toys, a template for Giving Tree tags, and a link to our Amazon Holiday Wish List.

GIVE A CASH DONATION, AND WE’LL SHOP FOR YOUR

Prefer a simpler way to give? Visit our donation page and make a cash gift that allows Mary’s Place to purchase gift cards and other high-need items for families.

Please ship or deliver all unwrapped gifts and gift cards to our South Lake Union Warehouse between Monday, November 2 and Friday, December 11.*

Please note this is not our Donation Center, where general (non-toy) in-kind donations are received by scheduled appointment.
