Natural and the Mary’s Place Housing Team partner with families to overcome barriers to housing and help them move from shelter to a home.

As a Mary's Place Volunteer and Event Coordinator, Grace Helmcke loves creating volunteer opportunities that make joyful moments and create connections with our guests. From flower arranging classes and conversations in their native languages to welcoming princesses and meals served with a smile, Grace helps our volunteers share their skills, love, and support with families at Mary’s Place in a fun and meaningful way.

The Allen Family Center (AFC) is a one-stop shop providing families assistance with housing, health, and child wellbeing. Mary’s Place is one of five local community partners that provide services and resources at the AFC – assisting 669 families last year alone.

A new partnership with Shoreline Community College is expanding our guests' English as a Second Language (ESL) learning opportunities.

Mary’s Place is grateful for the many community partners that provide services and resources that support our guests on their journey back into permanent housing. One of those partners is NW Furniture Bank which provides home furnishings to families, including Mary's Place families, transitioning to a new home.

After 24 years leading Mary's Place as executive director, Marty Hartman is stepping down from her role. Her last day will be December 1. Dominique Alex, current Chief Program Officer, will serve as interim Executive Director.

Behavioral health care is essential for many families and individuals experiencing homelessness to succeed in finding housing and maintaining stability in their new homes. Monica Beard helps women and families experiencing homelessness overcome the barriers to behavioral health services that can feel insurmountable.

13-year-old Audrey wanted to make a difference for other kids in her community through her Mitzvah project, what she didn’t expect was to kick off a chain of support for the Mary’s Place Make-a-Home program by inspiring her peers!

Our Mary's Place Girl Scout troop #40103 is excited to be selling cookies again this year! Their goal is to sell 2,000 boxes of cookies, with proceeds going towards an AWESOME camping trip being planned by the scouts! Check out dates and times!
