make-a-home

Mary’s Place make-a-home program

This program lets you adopt a family so you can support them moving into their new apartment and help it feel like a home!

Often a family loses everything when they lose their home. The Make-a-Home program helps families who have their keys to a new house or apartment with basic furniture essentials like a bed for every member of the family, a kitchen table and chairs, and a couch to help them get started in their new home.

You can even adopt a family by organizing a group to collect or buy items to turn an empty room or full apartment into a welcoming home for a Mary’s Place family! We’ll connect you with a family, you collect, store, transport, and set up items in a family’s new home.

If you have furniture you’d like to donate to help Make-a-Home, please email us at makeahome@marysplaceseattle.org and we’ll be in touch to schedule with you. There’s more information about the Make-a-Home program here, including a Q&A, organizational tools, ideas for where to collect items, and other ways you can help to turn a house into a home!

If you have questions, email us at makeahome@marysplaceseattle.org.
